Student Enrollment

To enroll in the 2024-2025 school year, follow the steps below for returning, new, or transferring students:

Step #1.  New/Transferring students: Enroll online through the FNSBSD Registration Portal. 

  • Transferring from another school in the FNSB School District? Parents/Guardians also need to submit a registration to the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District to switch to the BEST Homeschool. Once this step is completed, we can release allotment funds* and enroll students in classes.
     

*Attention: Students must be enrolled on or before Oct 1st to receive an education allotment for the 2024-2025 school year. 

Step #2.  Schedule a meeting with an Education Specialist using the Calendar app linked to their name below who is accepting new families and waiting just for you!

Step #3.  Review curriculum options to develop an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) for your student(s). 

  • Please review some curriculum options before your scheduled meeting with the Education Specialist. This list is only a sample of the possibilities!
     
  • Your Education Specialist will have you create an account in BrightWays for your ILP and progress reports.

Step #4.  Finalize your student's Individual Learning Plan (ILP) with your Education Specialist. 

  • Your Education Specialist will assist you in finalizing your curriculum selection and in creating the ILP for your student(s) during your meeting.
     
  • They will also discuss how to get reimbursed for your curriculum materials using your allotment funds.
